Islamic Religion

Islamic Religion is the world's 2nd religion and to day it is still growing. Muslims range from 0.7 to 1.8 billion worldwide and 1.1 to 7 million in the U.S. The best estimate for all muslims is as 157 billion. The Word Islam means ' Peace through the submission to God'. Muslims means ' Anyone or anything that submits itself to the will of God' Their is only 1 God, Allah. Allah is an arabic word that means 'God'. Muslims also believe that 'Allah' is the personal name of God.
The Islamic laws for women is that Men are superior to women. Men have
authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them, Good women are obedient.
Islamic Religion in iran is seen in 1 really interesting way in Persepolis that caught my attention. It was the Veil. The Veil is a head accesory that is used to show a womens self-respect and
social status. It is also used to show honor to their God, Allah.
If women do not use the Veil they are either beaten brutally or are either raped. Women also wear the Veil because in Islamic Religion a girls hair provok's a guy.
As you see on the right picture their is a women wearing a Veil that haves bars as if she was trapped and not free. Most women wear the Veil because they are forced to or just follow the religion. When a women is forced to wear the Veil I think she feels trapped, she doesent feel like her self. She just feels the same way as other girls that are forced because they all look the same.
In the left picture you see a page from Persepolis that caught my attention. On the top right picture their are 4 and a half girls. Look at their faces.Do you notice something? They all seem sad, insecure, and probally mad. Marji didint wanted to come out in the picture probally because she was to sad to accept the fact that she had to wear this thing called the Veil.
A nother image that caught my attention was the one on the bottom. The girls are given the Veils to be worn but instead they take them as toys and play with them. This picture is really discriptive because it also made me think why wear a Veil when you can use it in so many ways?
